Affordable Creative Spaces in Sydney
Friday October 21 2011
The City of Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore announced yesterday that the City is opening up to Expressions of Interest sixteen under-utilised spaces on Oxford St. The spaces will be offered to ‘creative enterprises at affordable rates and on short-term agreements, in a bid to provide more opportunities to our creative talent and make it a more interesting place to live, visit or shop.’
The sites up for grabs are in the lower end of Oxford Street, right around the corner from our fair selves here at Object. It’s a busy and dynamic section of Oxford Street, amongst the lively inner city suburbs of Surry Hills and Darlinghurst, and we’d love to see some nice creative neighbours join our community, even if it is only for a limited time. We love this initiative from the City of Sydney, to revitalise the area and make good use of vacant space while at the same time giving some profile to the creative community who so often don’t have the resources to make it happen themselves.

On Ya Bike!
Wednesday July 13 2011
It’s time to jump on that bike and get out into the fresh air and explore Sydney’s art scene.
Cycling is a fun, healthy and sustainable way of getting around the city, and the craze is catching on. City of Sydney have been busy developing 10 local cycling routes, and Object Gallery is located in the middle of one of its most popular bike networks.
The Inner East Circuit has an abundance of cosy cafes, vintage shops and galleries, so you will be pressed for time trying to fit it all in!
Download your copy here, call 02 9265 9333 to have it posted to you, or better still come into Object and pick one up for yourself!
